RunAsDate is a small utility that allows you to run a program in the date and time that you specify.
Joplin is a free, open source note taking and to-do application, which can handle a large number of notes organised into notebooks. The notes are searchable, can be copied, tagged and modified either from the applications directly or from your own text editor. The notes are in Markdown format.
Notes exported from Evernote via .enex files can be imported into Joplin, including the formatted content (which is converted to Markdown), resources (images, attachments, etc.) and complete metadata (geolocation, updated time, created time, etc.). Plain Markdown files can also be imported.
The notes can be synchronised with various cloud services including Nextcloud, Dropbox, OneDrive, WebDAV, their own service (paid) or the file system (for example with a network directory). When synchronising the notes, notebooks, tags and other metadata are saved to plain text files which can be easily inspected, backed up and moved around.
The application is available for Windows, Linux, macOS, Android and iOS. A Web Clipper, to save web pages and screenshots from your browser, is also available for Firefox and Chrome.
Features:
- Desktop, mobile and terminal applications.
- Web Clipper for Firefox and Chrome.
- End To End Encryption (E2EE)

FreeFileSync is free on Windows, Linux and macOS and has an Open Source version for Linux.
Donation version available with these extra features:
- Parallel file copy

A super simple app to backup / synchronize folders on Windows 10 and import photos and videos from a camera or smartphone connected over USB or WiFi.
With this app it is easy to make backup copies of your important files. SyncFolder ensures that all changes in important folders are synchronized on external hard drives, USB flash drives, network drives, FTP(S), SFTP servers, MTP devices, etc.
SyncFolder is deliberately kept simple and is primarily intended for home use.
Installation and update of the app is easy and secure by means of the Windows Store.
It is free.
The app also allows you to import photos and videos from a camera or smartphone connected through USB or WiFi. Import over WiFi is supported with the companion SyncFolder Photos app running on your mobile device (available on both Android and iOS). Both methods (USB and WiFi) allow you to store your items on the default configured folder for import or a folder of your choice.
The app's main function is: basic backup/synchronization of one or more source folders to a target storage device. Copying happens in 1 direction or in 2 directions depending on the type of synchronization that you want.
Possible data storage devices are:
- A hard drive of the computer.
- An external USB storage device: USB sticks, USB hard drives or SSD drives.
- A mobile media device (smartphone, tablet, ..) connected via USB.
- A network storage station: a shared network drive.
- A cloud storage location: OneDrive, DropBox, ..
- A FTP, FTPS server.
- A SFTP (SSH) server.
All backup / synchronization jobs can run automatically at a configured time or can be started manually.
Copying happens incrementaly: only those folders and files are copied that are new or have changed since the last backup. Modified files are copied fully and thus replace a previous version, i.e no history is kept. There is however the possibility to tell the app for which files it must keep up to 10 recent changes.
The app also allows you to specify a filter for each task. That gives you the possibility to exclude certain sub-folders, hidden folders, file types, etc.
You can copy in 4 ways:
- By mirroring: This method ensures that the folders and files on the storage medium are an exact copy of those on the source. If files disappear on the source location, they also disappear on the target location.
- By 2-way synchronization: This method keeps 2 locations A and B in sync.
- By blind copying: This method also copies all new and changed files, but files that are no longer present at the source location are not deleted on the target medium.
- By Cut/Paste: This method moves items to a destination location.
Cryptomator provides transparent, client-side encryption for your cloud. Protect your documents from unauthorized access. Cryptomator is free and open source software, so you can rest assured there are no backdoors.
Easy and Reliable
We understand simplicity as a key aspect of security. With Cryptomator you don't have to deal with accounts, key management, cloud access grants or cipher configurations. Just choose a password and you're ready to go.
You don't even need to specify what cloud you use. Cryptomator encrypts files and doesn't care where you store them. This makes it a lightweight application, which we believe is a huge benefit for reliability. Complexity would kill security.
Cryptomator is a so-called transparent encryption utility. This means that you don't have to learn new workflows. Just work with your files as you're used to.
Secure and Trustworthy
Cryptomator encrypts file contents and names using AES. Your passphrase is protected against bruteforcing attempts using scrypt. Directory structures and file sizes get obfuscated. The only thing which cannot be encrypted without breaking your cloud synchronization is the modification date of your files.
Cryptomator's desktop app is a free and open source software licensed under the MIT / X Consortium License. This allows anyone to check our code. It is impossible to introduce backdoors for third parties. Also we cannot hide vulnerabilities. And the best thing is: There is no need to trust us, as you can control us!
Vendor lock-ins are impossible. Even if we decided to stop development: The desktop source code is already cloned by hundreds of other developers. As you don't need an account, you will never stand in front of locked doors.
Autoruns shows you what programs are configured to run during system bootup or login, and shows you the entries in the order Windows processes them. These programs include ones in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other Registry keys. A "show non-Microsoft only" option helps you to zoom in on third-party auto-starting images that have been added to your system. You'll probably be surprised at how many executables are launched automatically. Language only english.
Process Explorer shows you information about which handles and DLLs processes have opened or loaded. The display consists of two sub-windows. The top always shows a list of the currently active processes, including the names of their owning accounts, whereas the information displayed in the bottom window depends on the mode that it is in. The unique capabilities make it useful for tracking down DLL-version problems or handle leaks, and provide insight into the way Windows and applications work.

Mouse Without Borders allows you to reach across your PC's as if they were part of one single desktop. Using Mouse Without Borders you can move your mouse between the 3 or more screens, even though one of them is attached to a different PC from the other two. You can also move files between the 2 computers simply by dragging them from one desktop to another. In fact you can control up to four computers from a single mouse and keyboard with no extra hardware needed – it’s all software magic, developed by Truong Do who by day is a developer for Microsoft Dynamics. The software is easy to setup and in addition to enabling drag and drop of files, you can lock or log in to all PCs from one PC, and as a whimsical bonus is it allows you to customize your Windows logo screen with the daily image from Bing or a local collection of pictures.
When you need to organize files, DropIt can eliminate much of the drudgery of searching and manually opening folders and moving files around.
You can configure DropIt to perform 17 different actions on your files and folders, filtering files by name, directory, size, date, properties, content or regular expressions. You can even save sets of associations in profiles and associate a profile to each desired folder, to scan monitored folders at a defined time interval.
Drop a group of different files and folders on the floating DropIt image and it sorts them to defined destination folders, compresses or extracts them, opens them with associated programs or performs other defined actions.
NimbleText is a text manipulation and code generation tool available online or as a free download. It magnifies your ability to perform incredible feats of text and data wrangling.
Beyond Compare allows you to compare files and folders. By using simple, powerful commands you can focus on the differences you're interested in and ignore those you're not. You can then merge the changes, synchronize your files, and generate reports for your records.
You can compare entire drives and folders at high speed, checking just sizes and modified times. Or, thoroughly verify every file with byte-by-byte comparisons. FTP sites and zip files are integrated seamlessly, so you can update your website with the touch of a button. Beyond Compare also supports cloud storage and can be used directly from most version control systems. Folder synchronization is also possible and repetitive tasks can be automated using a flexible scripting language.
