"The Great Discarder" is a clone of the authors other open source chrome extension "The Great Suspender". It was built to take advantage of Google's new 'tab discarding' functionality which is essentially a native implementation of tab suspension. This implementation is more robust and performant, both in the resources consumed by the extension, and the memory savings of the tab suspension. It is also compatible with chrome tab history syncing.
Advantages over The Great Suspender:
- More memory savings
- Compatible with chrome tab syncing
- Super lightweight extension that uses no content scripts or persistent background scripts
Disadvantages over The Great Suspender:
- No visibility on which tabs have been suspended
- Unable to prevent a tab from reloading when it gains focus
We built AdBlock to provide a worry-free and distraction-free Internet experience for everyone. It is used by tens of millions of users worldwide on all major browsers in more than 30 languages. Created by Michael Gundlach in 2009, AdBlock is now one of the most popular browser tools in existence.
The open-source software we create is designed to give users control over what they see in their web browser. It also gives users the ability to have control over their privacy by blocking many of the tools that advertisers and technology companies use to track people when they are online.
We believe that publishers should be able to monetize their content via advertising. Some of our favorite content is made possible with ads, and many of our users actively allow ads from creators they like using features available in AdBlock. Our focus is blocking annoying and intrusive ads. Since 2015, we have participated in the Acceptable Ads program, where publishers agree to ensure their ads meet certain criteria. Ads that are deemed non-intrusive are shown by default to AdBlock users. If you'd like to learn more about how Acceptable Ads works, where the money from this program goes, and more, please visit our Acceptable Ads FAQ.
We are a diverse, fully remote team with employees spread across North America and the globe. Our designers, developers, writers, managers, and more are obsessed with making the Internet a better place. We believe that everyone has a right to surf the web without being bombarded with pop-ups or video ads or being tracked by advertisers everywhere they go.
Restyle the web with Stylish, a user styles manager. Stylish lets you easily install themes and skins for websites and even customize Firefox and other programs themselves.

It provides features like easy script installation, automatic update checks, a simple overview what scripts are running at a tab, a built-in editor and there is a good chance that incompatible scripts run fine with Tampermonkey.
Tampermonkey is available for Google Chrome, Opera, Chromium, a lot of their derivatives and also Firefox and some Android browsers.

The Great Suspender is a lightweight chrome extension to help reduce chrome's memory footprint for users that like to have too many tabs open at the same time. This extension will automagically unload each tab while retaining its favicon and title text. A tab can be restored by clicking anywhere on the page when it is needed. This reduces the number of dom elements on the page and ensures no memory leaks or excessive javascripts are running. It also offers the functionality to automatically suspend tabs after a user-defined period of time similar to the extension tabmemfree. There is also a whitelist so that this auto-suspend functionality can be disabled for certain tabs.
It is now compatible with Session Buddy so that suspended tabs can be restored just like loaded tabs. It will also retain suspended tabs after a restart like the BarTab extension for Firefox, meaning that you don't have to wait for all of your tabs to reload when you restart chrome.

Tabbles - advanced tagging system
Tabbles allows you to categorize your files/folders by placing them in as many tabbles (tag-bubbles) as you like and then find them back by remembering what that file was about and “combining” the tabbles (tabble = concept) that make you think of that file, in a natural and dynamical way. Your files and folders will NOT be moved, duplicated or messed up with. The beauty of it is the categories or Tabbles are predominantly Visuals we are accustomed to see data. Tabbles is database represented in visual form which is not offered by windows even though they started offering search results by file name and content search ( in Vista) . Tabbles offers the way we organized data in our brains and quite intuitive.
