It took a bit longer than expected due to a few bumps in the road, but we are excited to present the first preview release of (what we consider to be) the best version of the best home theater software out there.

Ladies and Gentlemen, XBMC 11.0 Eden: Beta 1 is available to download.

XBMC is now available for the Apple TV! If you have an Apple TV and a Mac, which is required to jailbreak it, getting XBMC on it would be really cool. Just follow this (admittedly undetailed) guide: http://lifehacker.com/5739364/

I don't recommend getting it on your iPhone or iPod Touch just yet, though. Though XBMC is also available for jailbroken iPhones, iPod Touch, and iPads, it is supposedly unoptimized for the smaller screen. It's really just a smaller version of XBMC for the Apple TV. That means no multitouch gestures or anything, and the menus are probably really crappy to navigate (since it's designed for a remote). If you want to play multiple video or audio formats on your iPhone, you can the VLC app or CineXPlayer. To stream video to your device, use ZumoCast.

Oh yes! Makes your xbox a monster machine, play almost all video formats, exept HD. But what do I care since I don't even own a HD-tv. :) Get addons to stream movies and TV-series right away!

Works great on a softmodded original XBox, however the march of ages is starting to outpace the ability of original XBox hardware to keep up, some newer HD files are simply too much for it. Works great on Windows and Linux. Now if only I could run it on my 360....

This works good, and has some nice plugins, but I was never really impressed I enjoyed Elisa media center better. and I could get Elisa to work with my IR remote.
