There is no trace of its old form. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

WOT is very useful, especially when browsing search results on Google or another search engine. I recommend turning off the Child Safety rating though, since at least half of the stuff on the internet is child-inappropriate. :P
Internet really needs a FOSS replacement for WOT, something with a blockchain. Related to Bitcoin/ Ethereum
A rating system would be abused by users who don't like a website. I think a commenting system would be much better. And comments should be rated, so useful comments come up in ranking. Thus the best description of the website would outrank the others.

One of the standout features of the WOT app is its community-driven nature. The app allows users to contribute their own ratings and reviews, fostering a collective effort to create a safer online environment. We have found this feature particularly useful, as it enables us to rely on the experiences and opinions of fellow users when navigating through unfamiliar websites.

Just don't use it as web browser extension - website only. It still have very good community database.
So, I always thought the four categories in WoT were quite useless, however I'm not yet aware of a better alternative. I agree with other reviews that the ratings of sites were only as good as the feedback from users, but I value being able to provide feedback even if it's not vetted. It would be better if there were moderators like a forum, it's also necessary for individual pages or products on sites to be individually reviewed separate from the root domain.
I'm still not aware of any alternative that allows users to give direct feedback that's publicly visible, there's got to be something out there? The new Windows Edge browser has some capability to comment on sites you visit so maybe that will help...
