Wings 3D

Open Source by Björn Gustavsson | Link to website

Wings 3D is a subdivision modeler inspired by Nendo and Mirai from Izware. It is possible to assign materials, vertex color, UV coordinates and textures, but there will be improvements in those features before Wings goes 1.0. There is no support in Wings for doing animations. More info »

I found Wings3D after an unsuccessful struggle for getting to know Blender. It really impressed me, since it's quite easy to use. Besides, after having tried Cheetah3D (for Mac), it seemed to me that both Wings3D and Cheetah3D have a very similar way of controlling the scene and moving the camera, and I did like this.

I remember using the old Nendo program, and this is very similar. For quick model making this works really nice. I would use this with Blender, but nowadays I prefer to only use Blender.
