Never Liked it

Seems like its always forced on me and its annoying. The interface has been the same since i can remember. They need to make this simpler and redesign.

Windows Media Player 10 was the culmination. From the point afterwards, all versions are getting worse.
WMP 12 is laggy and unintuitive.

Agreed!

It's decent but certainly not desireable. It sucks that you have to download codecs, and it's missing simple things like cross-fade, lyrics, etc..If say, your on a MAC or a Linux machine, I would think 998 people out of 1,000 WOULD NOT go out of there way to look for WMP. I favor clementine, pretty smooth and powerful.

I love it, it just uses too much memory (slowing down other programs). It also has a habit of running in the background when I think I've closed it.

The version installed on Win7 is good enough: the player is more minimal and fast, even if the multimedia catalogue is so confusing :S

Its a pretty good player, but in my opinion the older versions worked the best, the newer versions seem to take up more processing and just caused problems every time I used it. There were plenty of times that I could not get it to play my videos, so I went with media player classic.
