Couple of years ago uTorrent had small footprint and just got the job done. Today it is still lightweight, but is starting to water down it's main purpose. But still not that bloated, and is quite usable.

Well, the App pane and searchfield are optional. The other clients for windows is even worse, so uTorrent is a good choice.

But if you're not using windows, Transmission is definitively better.

uTorrent is going in the wrong direction. I'm on 2.0.4 still, although Deluge might replace it.

It WAS lightweight application, but with latest 2.2 version too much bloat was introduced - just look at Apps pane. And I just got the first crash of uTorrent today - it has never happened on earlier versions. Sorry to sound so negative, but it is time for a new lightweight torrent client.

This is supposed to be a lightweight client, but it asked me to install a toolbar for my web browser, change my default search provider, etc. It also has built-in search capability. Not what I'd consider stripped down.

I would agree with many others that this is not a linux app! Only list it as such if it runs native

This is my torrent app of choice on Windows and I'd love to have it on Linux, though I'm quite happy with Deluge for that. It's very lightweight, fast, stable, and fully-featured.

However, I disagree with calling this a Linux app just because it runs in Wine. Photoshop runs in Wine but it's being honestly listed as a Mac and Windows program. Similarly, Deluge has a web interface but it's not being listed as an online client.
Complaints about the submission here aside, this is a fine client and I recommend it to anyone.
