The only anonymity software that is not only open source but also it works almost always even when commercial ones fail. The only downside is the slow speed.

I can't imagine an internet without Tor! If there is no Tor with the heavy censorship and website blocking the internet becomes Intranet in here. Tor is like the lungs of my connection through which I can breath!

It's probably worth noting that Tor will be seriously annoying if you don't understand the implications of using it beforehand. As said on their site, Tor doesn't allow you to watch Youtube or accept any cookies, both of which can track you (it doesn't matter whether they actually do). Personally, I wouldn't use it unless I had a really good reason to.

Try my Tor Browser bundle (Contains Tor 0.2.1.21, Vidalia 0.2.6 , Torbutton 1.2.4, Privoxy 3.0.15, Polipo 1.0.4 (optional), and Firefox 3.5.6), my bundle is modified from Tor Browser Bundle for Windows 1.2.10.

I have very good experience with TOR(+Vidalia) to keep anonymity in the web and defend against network surveillance that threatens personal freedom and privacy. It is very simple to use with an own self opening Firefox Explorer, if you start the Tor button. With only one click in the TOR-menu in the system tray you can change your identity (IP-address).
In this special Firefox Explorer I set http://www.aboutip.de/ as Homepage to see after page-refresh, what IP-address I use after clicking "New Identity".

I only use it with sockcap to support proxy for my desktop app which doesn't have proxy settings. For http proxy setting, I use another tool because of the speed.
