Comment by rafraf about TightVNC Aug 2011

Its possible to transfer files and clipboard content ( also non English characters) between client and server , and Tightvnc is the only tool that allows this commercially free , version 2.04 may-bee not as fast as team-viewer , but defiantly worthy substitute.

The same with Tight VNC... Looks like it's possible to use tVNC to connect Ammyy Admin server which significantly simplifies the initial first-session-run procedure as the latter is vnc and rdp compatible.

Please share your opinion if you use such a bunch.
Regards.

With TightVNC (2) Server you can get remote access on a windows 2000 PC, also commercial free
With Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection you can install an RDC-client (1) on a W2K PC. With this client you can look from W2K at a screen from a WXP-PC, but not vice versa. If You want to see and control the screen of a W2K-PC from WXP-PC's you can do it with TightVNC Server on the W2K-PC and TightVNC Client on the WXP-PC. It works, but the access is a little slow.

TightVNC is a good free solution. We use RHUB's TurboMeeting for our remote support. It handles everything like the UAC in Windows 7 and Vista, the login screens in Windows. We've had TurboMeeting unattended support sessions running for over a year. Both easy to setup and use. http://www/rhubcom.com/
