It isn't free on iPhone.

Not very sexy, but really good app design

about Task Coach · ·

I've only used it for two days, so I wait a bit before writing a real review.

However, as said in the subject, I can already advice you to give it a try, even if it doesn't look very sexy at first : after a few minutes, you'll quickly find out that the application design is very sound, and that you can easily shape it to your own methodology.

It has simple yet powerful features :
- hierarchical tasks
- hierarchical categories (+ possibility of defining sets of "exclusive" categories : very handy for GTD-like "contexts")
- colorized tasks according to categories and status
- malleable UI based on a set of "views"
- ... and of course several other commonly-found features (several dates, recurrence, etc...)

Please write a agreeing comment for "Allow to cut a note and paste it in a different task"

Until version 1.2.14 is is only allowed to cut and paste a note only in one and the same task.
Please allow to cut a complete note from the notes window of one task and paste this note to the notes window of a different task in one of the next Task Coach versions, maybe already in version 1.2.15 ?

about Task Coach and Memotoo, Funambol · ·

With MemoToo or Funambol you can sync your tasks from Task Coach with SyncML:
Task Coach is a very good open source Taskmanager, Funambol offers a free online sync service until 50MB, for MemoToo you pay 12€/year for an excellent sync service.

Simple, straightforward, functional and surprisingly robust. Customizable interface, effort tracking, really everything you could need. I've tried pen and paper, RememberTheMilk and TiddlyWikis. Task Coach is the only one I have stuck with. Love it.
