With IOBit Driver Booster I have much more frequently updated drivers in comparison with this one.
Negative opinion.

Only with DriverEasy I could use Renesas USB 3.0 Card

about SlimDrivers and Driver Easy Oct 2013

DriverEasy detected more drivers than SlimDrivers. So I prefer DriverEasy about SlimDrivers. After Slimdrivers had updated all drivers on Vista Business 64bit und reported all drivers to be actual and OK, there remained an "Other USB-device" not working and yellow-marked:

"Other USB-device" not working

After "optimizing" all drivers with SlimDrivers DriverEasy reported 2 missing and 23 outdated drivers.

DriverEasy reported 2 missing and 23 outdated drivers

"Hauppauge WinTV HVR-900H 64bit (66xxx)" did not work

My Hauppauge WinTV USB Card "Hauppauge WinTV HVR-900H 64bit (66xxx)" did not work with the drivers from SlimDrivers, because the drivers for this USB 3.0-Card could not be installed:

  • Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller
  • Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Root Hub

Only with the DriverEasy-Updates I could use the "Hauppauge WinTV HVR-900H 64bit (66xxx)" which has the drivers Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Card as a precondition.

Otherwise DriverEasy wanted to install the V7-drivers for "Hauppauge WinTV HVR-900H 64bit (66xxx)"-USB-device, without asking. I wanted to keep the V6-version, because VTPlus does not work with WinTV V7. In this point SlimDrivers had the better behaviour.

about SlimDrivers and DriverMax Aug 2013

This tool tried to install an older version of a driver.
Didn't find a download limitation, like my previous favourite Drivermax. Hope they keep up this good work.
For automatic driver updates (all at once), you can upgrade to premium, but it isn't necessary.

Mediocre Driver Update

about SlimDrivers Oct 2012

Out of the many bad or borderline scam driver update utilities out there, SlimDrivers is at least legitimate and functional. However, its ability to detect drivers is lacking, and it doesn't allow you to see the details of the driver before you update. Being able to verify that you're installing the correct driver is a pretty basic feature and competitors like DriverEasy have it.

This is really, really bad. Do not install it.

CPU Usage 100% on one core for displaying the GUI -.-
Forced registration (email not verified)
2 out of 5 driver updates failed, one just showed an empty error dialog, the other one said corrupted installer
Has outdated driver information, tried to downgrade a driver for no reason...
Keeps running in tray even after "updating" (or ignoring) for no reason.
This is really, really bad. Do not install it.
