PiTiVi is an open source video editor, written in Python and based on GStreamer and GTK+. Taking into account the fact that not everybody has the same knowledge of video editing, nor the same needs, PiTIVi provides several ways of creating and modifying a timeline. Simple and intuitive, but not very precise. It's like a fisher price video editor. Chromium has proven that just because it's intuitive doesn't mean it has to be annoying. If the PiTiVi devs just keep working on it, it'll be closer and closer to perfect. :)

I wanted to try PiTiVi because I heard it was going to be in the next Ubuntu release. I hope it has improved a lot towards it's stated goals of usability since the version in the 9.10 repos, because I couldn't figure out how to make it do anything useful at all. Kino works OK.

Its a nice and simple interface, but it cannot do much, I would recommend Avidemux over this program.
