PhotoLine is really a great software. The GUI is maybe a little bit old fashion but the math behind very well done - unlike competitors, which have a nice graphical interface but no functionality behind. If you need a image-editor for a small money PhotoLine should be the choice. It includes also an image-manager and a RAW-converter. You can create Flash animations and work with vectors. Even more the program is also able to handle small DTP projects. 16-bit and LAB - no question. Layers and non destructive working included. A nice unique feature, use filter in a different color mode without changing the color mode of the picture. There are much more great features to discover - give PhotoLine a try.

This is a seriously underrated (and still quite unknown) application. Speaking Mac-wise, this is the missing gap (feature-wise) between Pixelmator / Photoshop Elements and a full blown Photoshop itself. It has a lot of features for the money (and it is extremely fast).
