Paragon Backup & Recovery Free Edition gives you the ability to make a backup of your disk/partition, plus the ability to restore it later. I have migrated to Paragon from TI then Macrium Reflect because I can backup linux EXT4 files.
MR and TI will do it but only sector-by-sector.

For the straight windows user, my recommend would go to Macrium Reflect. Just keep in mind that Paragon Free gives you differential support, which you will need to pay for w/ Macrium or TI...

German Paragon B&R Free V.9 cannot backup Win 7 partitions

The German Version 9 from http://www.paragon-software.com/de/home/db-express/features.html cannot backup Windows 7 partitions, only the English Version 10 from http://www.paragon-software.com/home/db-express/ can do Windows 7 backups. But all editions of Windows 7 itself can backup Windows 7 partitions, see (1) and (2) Cons: You will need to register for a serial number before starting with installation, but it's well worth the minimal effort. Without a product key and serial number the installation process will be interrupted without information about this fact at the beginning of the installation.
