The easiest way to tag music tracks!

Drag and drop, save, done! This is what MusicBrainz impressed me. I am happy to contribute the database cause it helped me a lot.

Good & simple to use music tagger

about MusicBrainz Picard · ·

MusicBrainz Picard is a great little tool for tagging your music files.. I've tried MP3tag as well, but I find MusicBrainz more intuitive to use.

about MusicBrainz Picard · ·

I have used tons of taggers . None is as good as MP. The architecture of the application (ALBUM-ARTIST) its plugins and strong database (Music Brainz) is superb .I personally use MP to do the Preliminary tagging and use Spotify for Secondary tagging (through the cddb now GraceNote application ). Nothing comes close to these two in automated tagging .

Something VERY important for new users is to have faith that this software as of today is the ultimate tagger for your music files. THEN spent time (around 5 mins with the quick start guide on the official site) to learn the features. You will LOVE it!!

I use MusicBrainz Picard to find tag information and then TagScanner's rename features to whip my 10,000 songs into shape!!! Love them both!

Auto-Tag in Winamp is better

I was pretty exited about this when I first discovered it, because it gave me the possibility of properly tagging my album collection and discovering the correct albums/artists for the obscure tracks that I had. That is, until i discovered that Winamp's built-in Auto-Tag feature (powered by Gracenote) does a much better job (and faster, I might add) at this.

about MusicBrainz Picard · ·

Picard is always the first stop for all incoming music files on my computer. Even if the songs are totally mis-tagged, Picard can figure it out 90% of the time with it's "fingerprinting" utility that compares the song's unique digital signature to MusicBrainz's online database of signatures. Not only is it extremely useful, but it's reliability makes it one of the coolest pieces of tech out there right now, in my opinion.

But, more importantly, MusicBrainz's online database of artists, albums and song info adheres to very well-defined, logical standards when it comes to formatting and style. For example, proper English casing of song titles and handling of various artists albums versus single artist albums. That's huge if you're a music collection nut like me and proper and orderly tagging is crucial to organizing/managing your collection.
