Microsoft stopped selling Money products on June 30, 2009. On Jan. 31, 2011, all online services and assisted support for Money will end. Online activation of Money will no longer be possible. In 2010 Microsoft released Microsoft Money Plus Sunset as a replacement for expired versions of Microsoft Money Essentials, Deluxe, Premium, and Home and Business. "They allow existing customers to use MoneyPlus to continue accessing their data. Changes to the new versions include file conversions from older versions of Money, no required activation, no online services and no assisted support. Microsoft Money Plus Sunset is available now. about Microsoft Money Jun 2011

With Microsoft discontinuing support for MS Money, it's only a matter of time before financial institutions drop support for Money data export. Current users are looking for viable alternatives. Quicken is the predominant leader in commercial financial management packages, but reports from existing Money users are neutral to negative. Most existing users are waiting for a comparable alternative.
