This currently is the best anti-malware scanner software that exist. It catches a lot of malware, and it has saved my butt a lot of times where any other anti-virus or anti-spyware failed to. Highly recommended as a scanner. I recommend that you install and keep it up to date every week or month so just in case you get infected by a month old virus, you'd be ready to uninstall.

Removing viruses from machines has been in my job description for years, and my first choice for antivirus is Malwarebytes' Anti-malware. It's quick, it's clean, the user interface is easy to use (a monkey could run mbam), and it's customizable. Both versions (the paid & the free) can scan & clean, but the free version is an on-demand scanner only. The full version can stay in the system tray and scan all executing programs (like any other A-V), but also unlocks the "Flash Scan." Anyway, if you have an infected machine, Malwarebytes is definitely worth trying out.

Obviously I'm not qualified to accurately test antivirus and anti-malware suites,but I've heard some great things about Malwarebytes, the user interface is easy to handle, and it doesn't screw up my computer when I run a scan. Considering this is just an addon to a normal antivirus, it's good enough for me.
