Locate32

Free by Janne Huttunen | Link to website

Locate32 is software which can be used to find files from your harddrives and other locations. It works like updatedb and locate commands in Unix based systems. In other words, it uses databases to store information about directory structures and uses these databases in searches. The use of these databases provides very fast searching speed. The software includes a dialog based application as well as console programs which can be used to both update and access databases. More info »

This is a good search tool, my biggest problem with it is that is if the file system changes, Locate won't see those changes until you run an update to its database. I prefer BareGrep or Agent Ransack for the types of searching I do.

It's the best search tool I've tested ever

Support for Regex both in filenames and file contents, customized search locations, scheduled database update, customizable shortcuts and many more features make Locate32 the best
