It also shows you file size distributions, so you know for which file sizes you can optimize your hardware settings (cluster size, stripe size, ...) for.

Free applications to examine the foldersize of NETWORK drives:

FreeCommander (portable) , JDiskReport (portable usage with the executable Java-File jdiskreport-1.4.0.jar) ,

WinDirStat (portable): http://alternativeto.net/desktop/windirstat/

With TreeSize Free (portable) you can only examine LOCAL drives.

Beside many other useful functions FreeCommander shows (also sorted) how much space the files and directories consume on your disk drives, similar to JDiskReport or TreeSizeFree, but as opposed to "Treesize Free" also on network disk drives.

To sort the folders using the size of folders you must select "Size of folders" in the menu "Folder":

In difference to TreeSize Free shows also the size of network directories.
