Guayadeque

Using the GStreamer framework, Guayadeque has all the format support that entails. Beyond that, its feature set easily matches that of Linux mainstays such as Rhythmbox or Amarok, and its speed and efficient resource use make it especially useful for those with large collections. Nice replacement for Clementine

Positive Comment by manwithcake about Guayadeque Jan 2012

Clementine was my primary music organizer/player on Linux until the Nvidia bug made it tedious to use. After trying several alternatives, I settled on Guayadeque as a replacement. Having used it for several months, it has become my organizer/player of choice, even after Clementine developers fixed the bug.

Besides not respecting the system theme as well as it could, Guayadeque is an excellent player that has strong web-integration and library-management tools. These combined with speed and efficient resource use make it a wonderful addition to any Linux box, more so if you're sitting on a big collection.

Great music player. I was looking for a replacement for Songbird, and this came up trumps. Now if only there was a windows build so I can use this in work as well.

I was looking for a long time for a suitable Linux audio player and music library and I tried them all. Guayadeque does exactly what I need - as the only one: simple and robust player and library interface and excellent mass tagger incl. cover search (with the possibility to chose the desired image resolution) and option to save the cover in the tag. On top it has a intuitive context menu offering exactly the functions you need (e.g. filter all songs with the same artist, album or genre) and a tag search function via MusicBrainz - perfect to freshen up poorly tagged old mp3's.
