Annoying updates

Comment by OmgItsTheSmartGuy about GoodSync Mar 2012

I don't have much to say about this functionality-wise, but the Mac version of Goodsync has a really stupid update process. It seems like there's a new update every single week. Supposedly, it can check for updates automatically. But it doesn't do anything beyond checking. After I get an update notification, I have to go to their website, download the DMG, close my instance of Goodsync running in the background, open the DMG, drag the new version of Goodsync into the Applications folder, and restart Goodsync to actually update it. The whole process is really inconvenient (and not automatic at all). I would recommend turning off automatic updates for this app if you're using a Mac.

This tool makes a great companion to an Owncloud installation. Goodsync makes it very easy to sync your entire music collection via webDAV up to your Owncloud.

I am honestly impressed with this tool. It is blazing fast, comes with a tree view (sorry, FreeFileSync), and was the first sync tool I found that allowed me to easily fix a major timestamp problem between two folders (without re-copying all files).

It does so H U G E job !!! It's accurate and with no errors. I can really rely on it...letting it does its job with no fear of losing my files (when well set of course) !

it's quick (doesn't halt) and does the job right! I tried allway sync because of some problems with my webdav-drive. stay away from it. it's the most unusable GUI I have seen in a long time, although I have to admit that it works correct but halts a lot when syncing with an online storage like a lot of other tools do too. so I switched back to GoodSync and what can I say: they problem with the webdav-drive has been solved. 1+
