All Austrian banks use OFX-protocol for account-synchronisation: where is an instruction for OFX with GnuCash?
Some Austrian banks did the account-synchronisation with Microsoft Money with OFX-protocol until now. With coming up of the SEPA standard in the near future it will not be possible to give up a transaction in MS-Money any more. Then you can use MS-Money only for synced reports of account-transactions given up in the web-interface of the easybank-accounts. Theoretically GnuCash also should work with the OFX-protocol.
I did a test-installation of GnuCash and tried to sync my easybank-account with GnuCash and OFX, but it did not work.
The easybank recommends ProSaldo Money 2011 from Haude (1) instead of MSMoney, but this app is by far not as good as MS Money or GnuCash and it is not for free as GnuCash is, although GnuCash offers much more useful features than PS-Money. In the Haude forum (3) you can get more detailed information about the many problems and disadvantages at present. In an excellent uservoice feedback platform (2) you can vote for suggested improvements.
So, if anybody is successful with syncing an easybank-account or another account with the OFX-protocol with GnuCash, please inform about a link with a detailed instruction.
