I was looking for an alternative to the free version of Adobe Reader. I needed something that would let me save bookmarks as well as has multiple tabs and opened quickly. Foxit does both of these things, although the bookmark part is severely lacking. There isn't any real way to organize your bookmarks. You can change the name and order of them, but that's about it. Page navigation is a bit annoying compared to Adobe when on a laptop, and it doesn't look too great either. I've also noticed a lot of ads when you open the program. Sadly, I haven't found a better program yet that is free.

Pros: Opens fast, Bookmark Pages, Free Cons: Ads, Eyesore, Harder to Navigate.

Ads are annoying.

The start page (which you rarely see), is 75% covered with ads for Foxit products. You can edit the html file for the start page, and/or delete JPG files for ads, but it's a bunch of trouble. The funny thing is, the program has an option to turn off advertising. It doesn't work. On top of that, there's a registry key you can change to zero to supposedly get rid of the ads. They probably reduce the advertising. They don't eliminate it.

Otherwise, like the program so far. It works, unlike Cool PDF reader. It's not TOO terribly bloated, and yet it will read PDF files aloud.

Good reader. Has good note taking capability (Typewriter). Pretty snappy to use. But wastes space with the tab bar. Limited image extraction (screen-cap).

After having some troubles with Adobe Reader opening anything or taking way to long to open I decided to install and try this out. Perfect.

Yea, it's ok. But i think Sumatran PDF is even better. At least if you just want basic "read" capabilities.

I've always found Foxit Reader and Sumatra PDF to be a bit of an eyesore. The user interface isn't the prettiest in the world. Adobe Reader looks far more slick. Foxit does a better job of reading PDFs for me than Adobe, but hey, I don't read PDFs that often anyways.

I like Foxit Reader because it's good enough and available as portable version (via portableapps.com), so I can carry it on USB stick along with other "swiss-knife" software.

Foxit Reader, like a lot of other softwares, asks you if you want to change your homepage and install a toolbar: if you don't want them, all you have to do is uncheck those options in setup.
