If Firefox is using too much memory, just restart it and your tabs will come back. The addon Restartless Restart is great, as it adds a button and a keyboard shortcut for restarting.

Also bear in mind that the more RAM you have, the more Firefox is going to use.

Firefox is currently the best alternative browser at the moment. My only gripes is that it has its archaic download window instead of the streamlined Chrome like downloader. While Google Chrome is better out of the box, it suffers greatly from weaker Addon support. Firefox's addons are much, much more useful.

Chrome addons implementation is rather poorly done. It slows the browser down and increases the memory usages/load times dramatically compared to Firefox. Yes addons slow both down in some way or another, BUT Firefox's addons are closer to the browser so that they can have more functionality.

Last but not least, Chrome is the ad brokers browser. Everyone using Chrome has to understand why Google sees this as a huge opportunity, right? But I must say Chrome a great browser in it's own right. Much MUCH faster with most Javascript.

Firefox 4 makes it a clear winner in the browser contest. Faster, more flexible and very user friendly.

Dude, I was being sarcastic.. why in the hell would I be a "fan" of a certain piece of software as long as it doesn't fulfill my needs anymore? And why wouldn't everybody jump ship when something revolutionary (or just plain better) comes along? I suppose now you're a hipster nowadays for using Google Chrome or something... People like you tend to make me question the purpose and usefulness of internet communities. :)

Stay true!

Ok first off those who claim they were a fanboy of Firefox and jumped ship to Chrome so easily was not a fan, they just go with the hottest browser around. When a browser surpasses Chrome in popularity, they'll jump ship for that browser too (They also go with the hottest teams around too rather than have a favorite they'll root for even on down years). Fact is if your a fanboy of a product you won't leave it until another product offers what you need. And let's face it Chrome does not have as good of add-ons as Firefox. Chrome also isn't for add-on power users because if you use a lot of add-ons Chrome starts looking like crap.

See Firefox became popular because of two things. Add-ons and security. A true Firefox fanboy is an add-on junky and to jump ship to Chrome your not all into add-ons.
