The Update Checker will scan your computer for installed software in more than one programs directories, which you can specify, check the versions and then send this information to FileHippo.com to see if there are any newer releases. These are then neatly displayed in your browser for you to download (in english version). FileHippo shows the download-size, useful with limited internet traffic. Changes the language to english, even if there was another language before the update.
