Dvdisaster stores data on your CD/DVD/BD including additional error correction data to protect against data loss due to disk surface degradation (read errors). This makes optical disks safer for long-term storage since it allows for data recovery even after some read errors occur. Dvdisaster can scan the disk for unreadable sectors and helps decide when to move data to a new medium before data might become unrecoverable.
