As a chemical engineer,I have used MS Visio as a tool to create diagrams for process, equipment and plant design. Diagramly is a similar tool, but I like it better since its really user friendly and easy to navigate. Even none technical people will find it easy to use. I can recommend it to my fellow engineers who create designs/ diagrams, to graphic artist, or just to normal individual who just want to play around with it and use it as a tool for creativity.

I’ve been a long time Microsoft Visio user and discovering this free online software is a great find for me. First time users will be encourage to use this tool particularly with the pop-up tips and tricks dialog showing at start-up. All the basic shapes and feature are readily available, helping me create diagrams fast. Saving the document is easy with four extensions to choose from, but only files saved as SVG and XML will be displayed correctly when opened in another application. PNG and JPG files lose those shapes/figures created from the non-basic diagram. Opening a saved file is another story (might be worst) because only files that were saved as XML were opened successfully. The other files – SVG, JPG and PNG would not open and shows a pop-up dialog with ‘missing or invalid file’ context. What I like: It’s online, basic, and no need to check for security and software updates. What I do not like: Saving files and opening them. What needs improvement: comprehensive Help document, the help provided will only show the Tips and tricks and no more. Conclusion: This is a cool free online software but may need more development and testing - particularly the save and open feature. Try it.

A very intuitive tool; the graphics are great. I liked the 'how to' at the beginning for new users. Not owning Visio myself (and not wanting to fork over the dough to purchase it) I can see myself using this frequently on my current contract. So many of my business users are visual learners. The graphics are more complete than some of Visio's. I'm wondering if users will be allowed to import or save their own clip art or graphics? Overall, the tool appears very complete.

A very intuitive application with cool stencils! Even the inexperienced users can easily learn it. Plus, you don't need to worry about the installation as it's purely online. You can just go create your diagrams and save your file locally to xml, PNG, JPG or SVG file types, very handy! I highly recommend it!

Very user-friendly. Simple and easily accessible as it is online so no installation/licensing required. Not as rich in feature as Microsoft Visio is, but can surely be taken advantage of by anyone who needs to create diagrams on-the-fly. What I particularly like is that it supports Microsoft Visio import!
