I've used everything from Evernote to Pasteboard; but nothing has proven quite so handy as CintaNotes. It is a great tool, both aesthetically and functionally. Notes are quick to make and edit, it is lighting fast in terms of performance, has tagging functionality, provides the options for backup, and a pretty yet minimalist interface doesn't hurt either. I find use for it daily - saving lists, movies or albums i want to download, books i want to read, quotes i feel like saving, ideas I need to jot down - basically, this is one sweet application. Highly recommended, if you're the sort of person who deals with too much information on a daily basis, go ahead and get it now - you won't be disappointed!

Updated to version 1.4; still free; loads of feature added; the best simple note taker out there.

@climb4fun & malhaarkale: although such a feature would be very welcome, it's not essential on a basic note taker; it would make it more of a filer and archiver app... (you can have active links to image files in your notes, though).

it would have been really good if it was able to import images in notes

Yes! I knew something like this had to exist, and finally I found it. Looks good and works great.

Still growing quick'n'dirty note taker, text scrapper and web link capturer. Pen drive friendly, too. Highly recomended!
