    • Spideroak offers a "zero-knowledge" policy by default (they can't look at your files even if they wanted to) - which is great. Backblaze has this only as an option. Spideroak works on Linux, Backblaze has no Linux client. Backblaze is cheaper, but is for backups exclusively whereas with Spideroak you can also sync files between computers. But it does offer strong encryption, is free and open source. If it's storage online you want to buy for backup, try Backblaze with the encryption option on or go for Spideroak. Try Backblaze and Enter to Win an iPad 3!

about BackBlaze Mar 2012

Just wanted to add a note that Backblaze is running a contest for a brand new iPad 3. All you have to do is try either the home or business version of Backblaze. The contest details are on my website.

If you have not tried Backblaze now is a great chance to give it a try and possibly win a new iPad 3 when Apple announces it (or whatever the new iPad is going to be)

Recently named Backblaze my number one pick for online backup. It has some great features going for it: supports external hard drives, is easy to setup and use and most important they give you several methods to restore your data. Through the client, over the web or you can order a DVD or USB hard drive restore. Not many online backup services do that. On top of it all Backblaze is affordable and offers unlimited data storage. A great solution for those just wanting an easy to use backup service.

Backblaze is the simplest and one of the cheapest ways to backup.
It's the best option for backing up your computer that I've seen.

I wish it could synchronize a couple of folders with multiple computers though, like DropBox.

I'm testing it at the moment for free and I'm pretty sure I'm going to purchase an account afterwards. Parallel I use DropBox.
