You don't need to register or install to use the software, still you can't remote control if the Windows machine is locked (Win+L).

Whatever you say ammyy admin is the easiest way to first run session.
Nothing else can provide 3 clicks connection (application start, ID's exchange, connection confirmation).

Basically for this reason we use it for our helpdesk and netmeetings.

I use Ammyy Admin and I'm happy. I used before Teamviewer and I chose Ammyy because is smaller, easiest to use, when I transfer files it loads drive disks instantaneous, not like teamviewer, etc...

I bought a 1 year license.
After 6 months, Ammyy has stopped working for me, saying "your free license has expired". What free license! I PAID for the damn thing! I want the remainder on my 6 months!

Ammyy works really well, and is slightly easier to use than TeamViewer.
It is free, but if you want to pay for it, the price for home use is perfectly reasonable.

The only problem is that, when you connect to another computer, it opens a browser page with their web site, trying to get you to buy it, Very annoying. This happens even though I DID pay for mine! I had to install a firewall (Comodo) just to keep Ammyy from opening a new browser tab each time.

But, here is the really scary part: one day my anti-virus (AVG) decided that Ammyy was a Trojan horse, and uninstalled it from my hard drive! Eventually things were cleared out, and now AVG allows me to use Ammyy. But I can't shake that feeling that, somewhere in Russia, a spy is looking at all my work through Ammyy. Creepy!

It's similar to teamviewer, but smaller and you don't need to install it on Windows.
It uses the concept of ID (kind of pin number).

By default, you can connect using public routers. But there are some features missing I hope russians guys create later:

- specify a password for your ID
- It lacks some wizard or details instructions for configuring a private router.
- a way to add new public routers

I don't recommend AMMYY at all.I've used it but ran into several problems. One of them being the use of their servers located in Russia somewhere. But the worst part was their usage limit.
While they say it's free for non-commercial use, that is only temporary.
You may want to check the forum - I was one to first comment on this way back in Feb 2009.

Subsequently there have been many posts regarding this. Here's just one of many

Also I would never use this for business purposes - the risk of industrial espionage is too great.
It's not that difficult to lift traffic packets off the server if monitored to a specific address or addresses.
Just my take on it.I just won't use it ever again.
