I can't add icons and screenshots to applications! Why?

To be able to add icons and screenshot, we require users to establish a track record of valid actions beforehand. This can be accomplished by submitting or editing applications. Note that any submissions or edits which you make must be approved by our admins before taking effect.

The only reason for this is to protect us from spam.

But I am the owner of application xyz If you are the owner of a specific application, you can bypass this requirement (for your application only). Just drop us an e-mail at hello@alternativeto.net and we give you permission to edit your app!

	This is not clear. Do you mean that we have To establish a track record of valid edits before we can post screenshots? Or are no-owers simply not allowed to add screenshots to apps which they are not the developer? IMO, it would foster user participation and encourage involvement if screenshot uploads were allowed. they could then be moderated by the staff, as I'm sure forum posts are, etc. Also I believe that users should be able to upload or edit icons, especially if there isn't an existing one. 	It's mainly a technical reason behind this. We haven't had time to build a system to handle uploads and stuff like that and then "push" the changes to the app after we approve it and so on. We have this on our todo but we have lot's of stuff to fix before this. But it is a good idea to allow adding of screens and icons if there are none before!

	Okay, I am a bit confused by this whole ordeal... What exactly is the "track record of valid actions?" Is that determined by how many points we have accumulated? And if so, how many points do we have to acquire before we can add screenshots? Also, is it possible that when we have acquired that many points that we could remove (bad) screenshots and possibly change the icon if it is a bad icon or if there is no icon to for the application already?

	Yes, you need to get points. I believe you need 100. Or maybe 200. I'm not sure; ask Ola. :P Once you can edit icons and screenshots, you will be able to delete them, too.

	Today I have same issue file I am adding a PDF editor in this website. After several tries I found that the image size of screenshot is large then mentioned limit. After reducing image size its start working. May be same is the case with you. Check the size of image. Thanks

	How do I mark an application as discontinued?

	Only moderators can mark applications as discontinued. Most of the time, I find out that an application is discontinued when somebody reports it as "not an alternative".

	It will be useful if have function like using image url (remote upload) rather than upload the image for icon and screenshots!
