AVG LinkScanner 8.5.361 does not work on “Windows 2000 Prof.” in “VMware player 3.0.1” with Firefox
I have installed the AVG LinkScanner 8.5.361” on “Windows 2000 Prof. SP4” in “VMware player 3.0.1” with Firefox 3.6. As soon as I activate the AVG Active Surf-Shield sign in "Options security" by selecting the hook, I can bring to work no more Internet connections and cannot update the AVG Linkscanner application any longer. Web-sites cannot be opened any more.
In addition, the message “The connection with the update server is failed” comes. If the AVG Active surf-shield is deactivated, all Internet sites can be called with normal good function again.
I think, the theoretical functions of AVG LinkScanner would be unique and very useful, and I hope, that the above reported problem is given only in this special constellation.
