The banner ad at the top of the page asks me to white list the site to allow ads. I added alternativeto.net, but the message remains. What domain needs to be white listed to support your site? |

Hi HumbleOpinion, Thanks for even considering doing this! I'm not sure what plugin/addon you use to block ads and/or flash etc, but maybe there's an option to allow content from a specific site + the external images, scripts etc that that site loads? We access banners from external partners like Google AdSense. Let me know if this was helpful or not. Thanks again! |

Hi Markus, I use Privoxy to block annoying adds. The ads on alternativeto.net are not annoying and I want to help support the site. Through a little experimentation, I found that white listing the following urls in the { allow-ads } section of the user action file is required. (the "." is required in front of the url if shown.) googleads.g.doubleclick.net .googleadservices.com pubads.g.doubleclick.net .googlesyndication.com Thank you for providing this great service! |
