Could we have a dislike button to determine the software to avoid :)

Hi,

We have considered a dislike button but we decided not to implement exactly that. We want to encourage people to share what they like in the first place since that's what's most important in order to help us determine what's a good.

I agree that there are bad applications etc and that sharing information about why something is not good is important as well. we feel that just clicking an dislike button without any motivation isn't the best solution for our site though. We decided to solve this by introducing comments and reviews that both can be specified (as a setting that is used to rank the apps) to be positive, negative or neutral. So if you want to "dislike" something then write a negative comment or review and share the reason that you feel this way. This is much more helpful for other people and the fact that you set the comment or review to either negative or positive has an effect on the applications rank.

replace like/heart with up/down arrows or plus/minus. question: how does the alternativeto ranking work?
