I try and edit my profile bio, and always get "Something went wrong: String or binary data would be truncated. The statement has been terminated." on the bottom. I've tried this a number of times throughout the last month I suppose, same thing happens every time. =(

Works for me, so maybe something specific to your situation.

I'm sure Ola will look into it. Thanks for your report.

If it helps the text I'm trying to use is:

I previously worked in the IT dept of a public school where being cost-effective was required to survive. Now I'm contracted by the Navy where budgets aren't as much of a concern, but time and scale certainly are. I've become an Android addict and I'm always looking for more effective solutions.

I removed all "&" symbols just incase, but no luck. Even deleting all the text or just typing "a" doesn't work.

Xeogin: Sorry for the late reply. Ola will have a look at this as soon as possible. It's not a general problem so something has gone wrong with your specific profile and I'm sure it can be fixed.

Thanks, maybe my profile has some old code in it or something, been a member for year already. Great site =)

Have you tried to remove your bio text (save it in notepad or something) and then save and see if that works. Sounds like a bug in my code that allows a longer text in the UI then i allow in the database!

I deleted all the text and saved, and that seems to work, but adding to the profile brings up the same error. I tried copy/pasting back at first, then retyping, both have the same result. =(

Xeogin, I'm glad it worked that much at least. There is probably too much text or some strange character causing the problem. Have you tried adding some text at the time and saving to see what part of it works and what doesn't?

It seems to be working now up until any less than 10 characters left.

I have fixed this now by shortening the max length allowed for the text in the bio textbox! It will work when i upload code next time (probably later today).
