I wanted to login to recommend/like some software and have a previous login here that I have used for a while. When I hit the login button, I am now taken to some new kind of "Global Signin". I can seem to create/associate a user there but it is not related to my old userid. Has something changed recently? Neil |

Hi! Can you please send me us an e-mail with some info like your e-mail, what username you had before if you remember and what OpenID you used last time. Or if you used Facebook. /Ola |

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what y'all have done with the sign-in mechanism ... to be honest it confuses me. When I signed in using my "Yahoo" selection, it seems to have worked great but when I tried with my Google ID, it seemed to associate me with a different alternativeTo userid. By the way, I think altenativeTo.net is a fantastic resource. Truly wonderful. Thank you for building this. Neil |

Yes :) We use OpenID (Or Facebook) so that you do not have to use a username/password. So every account on alternativeto is associated with a OpenID. If you use Yahoo you have to use Yahoo all the time. If you use your Google Account we have no idea that it's you and therefore a new user is created! Thanks for using it and please tell your friends about it! |

Dear Ola, I'm pleased to announce that, culminating our longish message exchange via Hotmail, I was finally able to log in with my previous credentials and not as 'Lazy User3558481'. Thanks for bearing (with) me... Midas :) |
