I'm confused. None of these "alternatives" provide access to Amazon S3 storage which is this programs main reason to exist.

You may have a point here. But S3 is only a a thing Jungle Disk use. Dropbox also use Amazon. All these apps is backup utillites. See my point?

Jungledisk, dropbox, zumodrive and many other backup services use Amazon's S3 (Jungledisk can also use Rackspace's Cloud). That is to say, your data is stored on Amazon's servers but you're using custom software to read & write to those servers. If you just want raw access, try s3fm (i haven't used it myself) but keep in mind you may lose a lot of the compression, speed, and certainly the security that these backup services provide.

The alternatives would be programs like s3fm, S3 Browser, Bucket Browser etc since they all allow access to AmazonS3
