Songbird or mediamonkey are the best that I've tried; sharepod is really just for syncing easily without itunes or adding music on the fly and vlc is really a player than a music manager like the rest of these, it's great but it has no library structure.
The iTunes podcast interface is very poor. I have no interest in the playback capability and the music library parts of iTunes. I want a podcast aggragator that can let me subscribe to them, download them and then load them onto my iPod. Anybody got any candidates?
@ OLA : wrong ... if you have a iphone or an ipod touch you can still manage your music with Helium music manager 2009 latest version. Enjoy since itunes under windows is real crap!
People just like iTunes because it's got an Apple on it - I personally find WMP to be much faster and more user-friendly.
@ezekielnin Cool! It's actually a friend of mine who develops Helium Music Manager. The world is a small place :) I will check it out again!
@krysjez I agree about WMP wich i like but do not use it now because of sync and stuff.
I hate iTunes since I changed to a new computer and when I re-imported my music library, the metadata (the rating, to be precise), was not re-imported. I use to play songs by rating (only 5 stars, or more than 3 stars for example) and it is a pain in the ass if I have to re-rate all my 10.000 songs again.
I need an app which exports song with their metadata. Pretty simle. Who does this??? :)
I don't like iTunes for just 2 reasons. it is painfully slow to do anything and it has little support for video and audio types.
