"Microsoft spent over 100 million dollars (USD) a year in the late 1990s", yet mozilla kicked its ass with practically nothing.
Internet Explorer sucks. It's probably the least safe major browser on the web, and has no add-on applications or special features.
It actually has both add-ons and some "special features" as Webslices and Accelerators. IE8 is an ok browser. Not great. But ok.
Its a browser for the lazy guys that don't want to visit a site like Firefox or chrome and download a better browser.
I work in IT and a very large number of issues are IE related and could of been solved by simply using firefox.
Internet Explorer is the least secure major browser available. The only reason anyone uses it is because it becomes prepackaged with Windows. If you actually care about your internet browsing experience, get an alternative browser like Firefox or Chrome. Due to its popularity and numerous security holes, IE is most frequently targeted by malware, popups, drive-by downloads, and other similar crap.
Hey guys if anyone here are using internet explorer, please stop that. Many and many new features of the web wasn't been used becouse ie's incompatibility.
IE stinks. It's slow and it eats memory like nothing I've ever seen before. The only reason why it survives is cuz it's shipped with windows.
the only reason that IE gets used is because many people that have windows just know that its the "internet" and don't even know what a browser is. I have met a few people who actually prefer it. i think because its either because that's what came with the computer or they don't like installing things.
