This has been put in as an alternative to Adobe Premiere Pro, I don't think that's really a good match as it can only transcode formats - it can't actually edit video!
if you're ripping a DVD, it can get really hot on your mbp, takes time to encode. Very rarely, Some dvds may not work and miss chapters or match with wrong sound track. Still an awesome tool.
Should not be an alternative to Adobe Premier Pro!
This program crash all the time for me.Video Monkey works much better.
I agree with some of the previous comments. Handbrake is awesome, but it's a transcoder. Thus....yep....you guessed it...it's not a converter or a comparable alternative.
